He was bur in north corner and there is nothing to identify grave, except information from two witnesses. GM Piqua D. A. R. in 1906. Very little known of his actual history. Mr. John Rayner, a local authority, heard description of Mr. Pegg's funeral given by Mr. M. H. Jones and Mr. L. C. Cro—, of Piqua, the latter is still living (Oct. 31, 1923). Boatswain on brig Minerva, which was fitted out on Act of Colony of Conn by order of his Honor, the Governor, and Committee of Safety for the defense of said colony in 1775. Vessel commanded by Capt Giles Hall; carried 16 guns and was in the list of privateers. Was of Italian ancestry, brave, eccentric and independent; erected own monument before death, which still stands in old Maple Grove Cem near Darrowville, in Stow Twp. A descendant tells he planted the beautiful trees now on the streets of Darrowville. His wife's death 1807, the first in the Twp; the first marriage in Twp was of his dau to Mr. Singletary.
