Mar Rebecca Hathaway May 11, 1768. (p 54, Church Records, Morristown, N. J.) Both received into church Mch 2, 1776. Children: Benjamin, Jacob, John, Robert, Tunis, (died), Child (died 1773). All baptized Morristown, N J. 3 buried 1772 and 1773. D Lebanon and buried in Presbyterian churchyard. In 1778 Isaac Morris came to Columbia, perhaps, then on to Cincinnati about 1789. One of eight charter members of First Presbyterian Church Cincinnati 1790. He removed to Warren Co before 1800, Sec. 19, northwest of Lebanon. Founder of Turtle Creek Church and when it disbanded a founder of Lebanon Presbyterian Church. Benjamin came with his father to these places and lived near him. As a Sgt he was commissioned to build 120 wagons for the army. He delivered them in 6 mos. (record time) and was made 1st Lt for the promptness and excellence of the wagons. He was mustered out at the close of the war as Capt. Br Tyringham, Mass Jan 3, 1752. Parents: Peter Morse (d 1771) and Keziah Clark. Mar Sally Stoddard, Polly Gibson. Children: Abishai, son of first wife. Seth Gibson and Maria by second wife. D Nov 19, 1840 in Brownhelm, O. Bur Brownhelm Cem midway (from north to south) on east side, second line from fence. MI: Names and dates only. GM by Seth G, son, with the usual type of headstones for those days. Marked about 1850. Enl at 19, and was one of the eight men who slept by a strawstack in Somerville the night before the attack on Berks Hill. Owing to high tide they were compelled to go as far as Watertown to find a boat and crossing. All took part in the afternoon defense. He moved from Great Barrington, Mass to Ohio in Autumn of 1823, where he had bought 1,400 acres of heavily timbered land. As Calvanist (Baptist) he declined to pay State tax in Mass to support the Presbyterian work. A young heifer was sold, tax deducted and balance of money returned which he refused, saying it could be applied on subsequent requirements. Fur infor Oberlin Chap.

Served as a Pvt. Claims to have known Gen Washington personally, and related many incidents. Probably in some Maryland outfit, but it cannot be verified. This is merely a newspaper report at the time of his death. Br July 16, 1735, Carlisle, England. Children: John Bradley Moses, (br Mch 2, 1776.) D near Carlisle, Warren Co in 1832. Came to America in 1750 and located at what is now Georgetown, Md. There is also a tradition that he later moved to Virginia before coming to Ohio.
