He was Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Somerset Co, N.J. On Dec 15, 1774, he was on a committee of inspection of Hillsborough Twp, Somerset Co. N. J., a patriotic organization "to resist the arbitrary measures of Great Britain." and in 1775, about two mos after the battle of Lexington, helped to raise money "to furnish arms and ammunition to the Mil of Hillsborough Twp." Br. baptized, Oct 13, 1717. Parents: Cornelius Lowe and Judith Middagh. Mar Rebecca Emmons, June 1. 1747. Children: Jacob Derrick Lowe, the youngest, was later a judge in Ohio, Maria, Derrick, John, Eunice, Catherine, Cornelius, Rebecca, Gysbert, Ann, Judith, Abraham. D 1802, probably Hamilton Co, O. Came to Cincinnati in 1791. and several yrs later removed to the Symmes tract in the Little Miami Valley, where he lived in a little town made of log huts.
