Br Allegheny Co, Pa. Mar Jennie Mitchell in Pa. Pensioner in 1840 at age of 75 yrs, while residing in Union Twp on a large tract of land where the town of New Concord now stands. Reared a family of eight children of whom all married and deceased at time of this writing ( 18f)2) except the wife of the son John, who was born in 1802. John was the fourth child. David Findley was related to Gov. Findley and Dr. Findley of Pa. He lived to be over 90 yrs of age and died in Muskingum Co. Was Judge at one time. Judge David Findley, coming in 1806, purchased lands of Henry Reasoner, who had located in Sec 1 in 1804. In 1827 the establishing of the National road through his place prompted him to layout a town which was accomplished Mch 24, 1828. The location of the town of Concord and description of the town is recorded as follows: "P 298. Judge David Findley's large brick house was erected in 1828. D Oct 7, 1858 at his home in Miamitown, Hamilton Co, O. Bur Berea Cem, near Cleves, O. Lots No 158 and 159. MI: "Jonas Frazee A Soldier of the Revolution. Born in Westfield, N. J. 1759. Died 1858." GM erected by the citizens. Tombstone erected by subscription of citizens in 1859. He first enl at Westfield in Capt Craig's Company and again at Rahway in Capt Scudder's Company. He was several times engaged in bloody skirmishes with maurauding parties of tories and bandits, encouraged by the enemy to pillage and destroy. He served three years and was honorably discharged at the disbanding of the army. He was always poor, never owned a home until J. Scott Harrison, M. C. from this district secured him a land warrant, which he sold for a humble home in Miamitown, O. where he lived until his death. He was strictly an honest man and a good neighbor.
